My Story

Welcome to Kimmy Bakes. 

I am Kim Ho, the owner of Kimmy Bakes. I have been professionally baking since 2015.

It was during my late childhood that I honed my skills as a novice baker. Growing up, being first generation born in Australia encouraged me to introduce to my family (the toughest critics) various homemade baked desserts. Most weekends were always my sweet excuse to explore and experiment with different flavours and baking techniques. It was deeply satisfying to present desserts that were ‘new’ (or foreign in my parents’ view), aesthetically pleasing and delectably memorable.

Whether it is a birthday, wedding, or perhaps a christening, the thing that I adore the most during these occasions is how people come together during that special moment of ‘cutting the cake’. It is these show-stopping moments that fuelled my desire to work in an industry where memories are for everlasting, thus, why I became a professional cake artist.

My baking passion has persisted with me over the years. It has been an avenue that allows me to combine my love of art and design, and my inquisitive mind in the science and techniques in baking and cake decorating.

I have been fortunate to start up and run Kimmy Bakes for a few years now. The bespoke element in creating unique cakes and desserts for customers, I find, is an enjoyable and rewarding experience. I believe it is important to be able to express individuality through show-stopping cakes and desserts without compromising on taste. I have pride in all the cakes and desserts I produce. To ensure quality, I bake with using scratch recipes and carefully sourced ingredients.
